‘UNESCO’s Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education in Bangkok is the technical advisory body to all field offices and Member States of the region and the site of regional programmes in areas covered by the Education Sector. It also houses regional advisory units in Culture and Social and Human Sciences and staff from the Communication and Information Sector and from the Science sector. The HIV/AIDS Coordination and School Health Unit of UNESCO Bangkok is specifically working on HIV/AIDS and school health issues and providing technical assistance to the education sector of Member States in this region’.

UNODC UNODC encourages new responses to the linked issues of drug abuse and HIV/AIDS through the development of multisectoral partnerships that pursue; better understanding of the drug abuse and HIV/AIDS trends, and responses; integrated national policies and programme plans; improved responses within custodial settings including drug abuse treatment services and prisons; and strong national and regional networks for the exchange of information, ideas and expertise.

  • Prevent the further spread of HIV/AIDS among vulnerable groups and in the general population;
  • Promote countries' health policies and multi-sectoral approaches (e.g. by working in education, social safety nets, transport and other vital areas);
  • Expand basic care and treatment activities for those affected by HIV/AIDS and their families, as well as for children whose parents have died of AIDS and other vulnerable children.

Partners
UNIFEM works worldwide to promote gender equality between women and men and to advance the status of women. In the field of HIV/AIDS in Thailand, UNIFEM undertakes various activities to address gender dimension of HIV/AIDS. Those activities include: advocacy for national and community action to protect women and girls from HIV/AIDS; promotion of the human rights of women living with and/or directly affected by HIV/AIDS; and provision of technical inputs to partner agencies for engendering their HIV/AIDS responses.
