Thematic Working Group on Migration:
The UN system is working with Thailand on migration issues and address challenges in managing the flow of migrants and providing increased protection to migrant workers. It has served as an active forum for information sharing and dialogue to address key migration issues in Thailand, including situation of displaced populations, regularization process for migrant workers, employment practices and working conditions of migrant workers. Three main areas of support have been identified: migration policy formulation & advocacy; capacity-building; and regional/ASEAN cooperation. The TWG on migration has published two Thailand Migration Reports in 2009 and 2011 with the 2014 publication due for release in first half of 2014.
